Recently, I did a lot of curation work to my Makerspace Resources and Programming page. I’ve updated, organized, and added pages to more clearly direct maker education information seekers! Here is a breakdown of the new pages and other important maker pages:
- Makerspace Resources and Programming Ideas : This is a page for new and old makers. A place to find even more blogs for inspiration, and a link to my original programming ideas for instituting Maker Monday at Lamar Middle School.
- Makerspace Tools : You do not need fancy gadgets to start a makerspace. What you really need is a maker community and the motivation to create! Once you’ve built this culture and want to start adding other items, this is a list of tried and true resources. I do not have all of these items in my makerspace, but these are solid products I’ve either tested or I know hold up well in public and academic library makerspaces.
- Maker Education Lessons : Projects, Lessons, and Simple How-tos. From Makey Makey to Paper Circuits
- Maker Reviews : People ask me a lot about particular products, after reviewing Sphero, Ollie, Dash and Dot, and Ozobots, I’ve decided to try and add makerspace tool reviews as often as I can! I will only review things I’ve tried personally and do not accept money for writing reviews. I simply use awesome stuff and then write about it!
